Summer is set to end with a bang as the 30th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest (Sep 7th, 13th, 21st and 28th, Oct 1st and 5th) turns the night sky aglow. The pyrotechnics are accompanied by laser light projections and music.
In September, the city is also the basketball capital of Asia, with 12 of the continent's top professional club teams taking part in "East Asia Super League - THE TERRIFIC 12" (Sep 17th-22nd).
In celebration of World Tourism Day (Sep 27th) and the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR, the annual Tray Race is set to bring in an afternoon of thrills and possibly some spills to the historic heart of the city. Crazy Horse Paris is back in town with Forever Crazy in Macao (Sep 25th – Oct 5th), featuring some of the most popular and alluring acts of the French cabaret troupe.
Those seeking more reflective entertainment can visit Regency Art Hotel for Y Show (Sep 5th-8th), where artworks by young artists will be on display. The show is part of the six-month-long Art Macao initiative, that continues throughout October.
Elsewhere in Macao, starting in late September, the World Press Photo Exhibition 2019: Macao, China (Sep 28th – Oct 21st) showcases the winning entries of the annual World Press Photo contest, this year marking its 62nd edition.
