Kick start the New Year with the best festivities in Town
2020, the year of the rat, ushers in a brand new decade, and along with it a series of entertaining New Year's festivities are lined up, including the Lunar New Year Market (Jan 17th to 25th), the Golden Dragon and Lion Dance Parade (Jan 25th), and the Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Rat (Jan 27th to Feb 8th). For those who enjoy the traditional New Year's celebrations, they can visit the Firecrackers and Fireworks Zone (Jan 24th to 29th), get a lucky spinning wheel at the Incense and Pinwheel Stalls (Jan 24th to 31st), or make offerings for peace and health at a local temple. These are all wonderful activities to commence and enjoy the Chinese New Year.
January kicks off with New Year's celebrations and will continue to be a month filled with exhilarating activities. This month will feature the 19th Macao City Fringe Festival (Jan 10th to 19th), the 2019-20 Concert Season of Macao Orchestra and Macao Chinese Orchestra (Jan 11th). Showcasing its diverse cultures, the city also features the Sinulog Festival this month (Jan 19th), which is a traditional religious festival in the Filipino community.
