Appreciate Art in May
This month, Macao is transformed into a "City of Arts" with the much anticipated "31st Macao Arts Festival" (Apr 30th to May 29th), featuring a colourful palette of events and activities. With "Feast of the Drunken Dragon" (May 19th) in the same month, visitors have a great chance to be immersed in the local culture of the city. Also not to be missed are the Macao Grand Prix Museum that provides information, entertainment, leisure and learning experiences related to the Macao Grand Prix; the exhibition "A Glorious Journey: The Domestic and Commemorative Timepieces after the founding of PRC" (May 1st to Jul 31st) that displays commemorative timepieces made in China from the 1950s to the present; and the House of Puppets Macau, an arts and cultural space in Coloane.
Weekends are a great time to visit Macao. With the "Hong Kung Night Market" and the "Sun Never Left" (May 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd, 23rd, 29th & 30th), the "Taipa Market" (May 1stt, 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th), and the "Sunday Art Market of St. Lazarus Church District 10 Fantasia" (May 16th), you can enjoy the authentic market culture of Macao in all its splendour.
