Procession of the Senhor Morto

The Procession of the Senhor Morto is held on Good Friday every year, celebrating the Easter story and bringing this Catholic act of devotion to the narrow streets of downtown Macao. After a Mass at the Cathedral, the procession - featuring magenta-robed guardians and crowds of the faithful - makes its way through the old town. The solemn event attracts many tourists as onlookers. This unique religious celebration is a moving commemoration of a key aspect of the Christian faith.
