The Procession of the Senhor Morto is held every year, celebrating the Easter story and bringing Catholic devotion into the narrow streets of downtown Macao. The procession begins at the Cathedral, then travels via Senado Square, St. Dominic's Square and Travessa do Bispo, before returning finally to the Cathedral. The annual event through the narrow streets of the old town features magenta-robed escorts and crowds of the faithful, and also attracts many tourists as onlookers. This unique religious celebration is a moving commemoration of a key aspect of the Christian faith.
