Pak Tai’s Birthday - falling on the third day of the third lunar month - commemorates the Supreme Emperor of the North or Emperor Xuan Wu as Pak Tai the water deity was known. With most past Taipa residents fishermen, it was natural that a Temple would be erected in his honour here. This year on his birthday (30/3, 12:00 noon), residents celebrate this big day with various activities in front of the temple, which notably include dragon dances, Cantonese Opera performances and traditional handicrafts exhibition (29/3-1/4, 7:30pm to 11:00pm, free admission).
