May is a heavyweight month across all activities, from culture to entertainment and sport. In the spiritual realm, the A-Ma Festival (May 6th-10th) pays homage to the city's most venerated Chinese deity, while the Procession of Our Lady of Fátima (May 13th) brings together Catholic devotees. The Feast of the Drunken Dragon (May 21st-22nd) continues one of Macao's most distinctive cultural traditions.
Across the city, the 29th Macao Arts Festival (Apr 27th – May 31st) is in full swing throughout the month. May also amps up the sounds scene, with Hush! Full Music (Apr 29th – May 1st) bringing rock music to the waterfront sands of Hac Sa, Coloane, and K-Pop pioneers Super Junior (May 12th) also coming to town.
There are many sports events to choose from, including the Macao round of the debut season of the FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League – Macao 2018 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group (May 22nd-24th) and the first-ever edition of the 2018 China Wakeboard & Wakesurf Open: Malibu WWA Asian Wake Series (May 25th-27th).
