April offers cultural treats for Easter all over town. Make a splash via spiritual cleansing and blessings during the 23rd Macau Myanmar Overseas Chinese Water Festival (Apr 20th-22nd), a joyful example of the city's blend of cultures.
This month visitors can also find creative handmade products at the Tap Siac Craft Market (Apr 13th-15th and 20th-22nd) and in various other craft markets dotted around Macao. Don't miss the ongoing event, Women Artists – 1st International Biennial of Macao (Mar 8th-May 13th), the opening edition of a large-scale venture featuring in aggregate dozens of works created by world-leading female artists.
April ends with a flurry of stage acts, including the return of the celebrated St Petersburg Ballet Theatre to perform one of the world's most famous pieces of ballet drama, Swan Lake (Apr 27th-28th). For those with more contemporary taste, Macao has just the thing, as pop music superstar Bruno Mars (Apr 27th-28th) comes to town as part of his successful world tour.
Last but not least, April marks the start of the 29th Macao Arts Festival (Apr 27th – May 31st), which extends well into May.
