October 2017

All Around the City

October is another big month in Macao for everyone - be they music lovers, art buffs, heritage and history hunters, sports fans or exhibition-goers! The curtains are drawn and the lights are up for the 31st Macao International Music Festival, offering a selection of internationally famous productions - some performed in UNESCO World Heritage-listed venues - that have been created to appeal to as wide an audience as possible. The festive vibes continue with the 20th Lusofonia Festival on the Taipa Houses promenade, and you can watch some of the world's greatest players in action in the Macao (Golf) Open 2017!

Performance to celebrate the 68th Anniversary of the National Day of the People's Republic of China - A Chinese Acrobatic Version of 'MuLan' retells the famous Chinese tale of Mulan with a new interpretation, while the 15th Macau A-Ma Cultural and Tourism Festival and the 2017 Macao Taoist Cultural Festival demonstrate the rich content of centuries' old Oriental beliefs, customs and culture.

Want a hair-raising experience? Step right up for the Tokyo Horror Experience. And drink in the beauty of Macao by joining the Heritage Stroll with Poetry, visit the 2nd Macau Lantern Festival at Anim'Arte NAM VAN or meet Giant Pandas and Red Pandas at Macao Giant Panda Pavilion and Pavilion of Rare Animals for some refreshingly relaxing outdoor experiences.

Macao is a city of gastronomy. So, how can any self-respecting foodie resist Oktoberfest Macau at MGM 2017 and the MICHELIN Guide Street Food Festival with all their mouthwatering food and 'beverages' awaiting you? Please note, as ever, that details of events, times, places, maps, transport options and a helping hand are just a sweep away of the fingers on your smart device!
